With that goal, we provide:
Stage translations and preliminary translations
We translate from English and French into Catalan and Spanish, and also bidirectionally between Catalan and Spanish.
Preliminary translations allow our clients to perform a first evaluation of a text for a prospective project. However, our preliminary translations are not just a quick draft – we provide elaborate stage-worthy texts so that the potential of the plays can be fully appreciated. If the project eventually moves forward, we refine and perfect the translation during the production stage in order to achieve an optimal result.
We also translate other kinds of texts or texts belonging to other genres which are aimed to be used in the performing arts.
Text research
It is often hard to find a text that matches the requirements of a venue, a company or a topic. Rereescenes is constantly on the lookout for new authors and texts – therefore, we find and offer texts tailored to the style of the requesting company, to the features of the venue, to a specific topic, to a certain number of actors, to the production needs, etc.
Evaluating the potential of a play in a foreign language is not an easy task. Thus, when facing a text in English or in French, we offer to perform a first reading, a synopsis and a brief customised report – including the main features of the play, a list of foreign productions, an analysis of the type of audience it is addressed to and, finally, an evaluation of its potential and requirements considering local audiences, local venues, etc.

Management support
In case language is a barrier when it comes to managing the acquisition of the performing rights of a play, we will take care of the communications with the appropriate agency; plus, we will handle the translation of any necessary legal documents.
